4G & GSM Wireless Alarms are normal Wireless Alarms, but communicate to Key-holders via Text Message & Telephone using mobile phone technology (SIM Cards) when activated, no Telephone line is required within the building of the installation.

All of our GSM (SMS) Alarms are designed for easy DIY (self fit) Installation, and we have Telephone Sales advice to help you choose the correct system for your application, together with full Telephone support for after purchase to ensure you get the best from the chosen system. This support continues during and after the warranty periods in the unlikely event of you having a problem.

Wireless Alarm:
The Wireless Alarms normally consist of the following (although there can be variations between models):

  • Control Panel, these are normally powered by a plug in transformer and have a built in backup battery, these control panels are used a base station for the complete system, alarm sensors/detectors are learnt into them, sirens are powered or triggered by them, they are used in various ways to arm & disarm the alarm systems.
  • Wireless Alarm Sensors/Detectors, these are a selection of battery powered sensors/detectors that will transmit a wireless signal back to the control panel if triggered, the large choice allows each alarm system to cover different areas or types of risks, they include:
    • Wireless PIR's (these detect moving people, there are many different models to suit different applications).
    • Wireless Magnetic Contacts (these detect a door/window being opened).
    • Wireless Vibration Sensors (these detect violent vibration).
    • Wireless Water Detectors (these detect a water leak or flood).
    • Wireless Smoke Alarm (these detect a fire).
    • Wireless Panic Button (these trigger the alarm in the case of a medical or security situation).
  • Sirens, there are both Wired & Wireless Sirensthat can be used with various alarm systems.
  • Remote Controls, these can arm & disarm an alarm system.

Telephone Lines:

Although the GSM Alarms can contact key-holders in the event of Security, Safety, Power or Medical Emergency, no telephone line is required at the location of the installation, this now allows our customers to easily monitor all types of locations including Homes, Business Premises, Workshops, Holiday Homes, Boats, Farm Buidings, Stables etc.

SIM Card:
A mobile phone SIM Card is used for the communication between the GSM Alarm & Key-holder, these can be a contract or 'pay as you go' type. We recommend a network is chosen which has a good strong signal at the location of the installation. If using a 'pay as you go' SIM Card, it is important to know that most providers need it to be used at least once every two - three months (this can be in the form of an activation, text activation, text message, power failure).

Communication:
The GSM Alarms can be armed in various ways (depending on the model chosen), but the options range from:

  • Remote Control.
  • Built in keypad.
  • Text Message.
  • Telephone Call.
  • Built in Timers.

The GSM Alarms can contact Key-holders in various ways (depending on chosen model), but most include:
  • Text Message (different alarm systems can vary to how many they can send).
  • Telephone Calls (with your own recorded message).
  • Silent Telephone Calls (allows the location of the control panel to be listened into).
Which GSM Model Should I Choose ?:

GSM Wireless Alarm System can vary in different ways, we would recommend you take into account the variations when deciding which system to purchase !!, the variations can include:
  • Price.
  • How many Text Messages it can send ?
  • How many Telephone Calls it can make ?
  • How many Wireless Sensors can it use ?
  • What selection of Wireless Sensors/Detectors are there to choose from ?
  • What selection of Sirens are there to choose from ?
  • How many Remote Controls can it use ?
  • How to Arm & Disarm (remote control, keypads, text message, telephone call, timers) ?
  • Has it got built in Mains Power Failure (and how does this work if it is important to you) ?
  • What does it Look Like ?
  • Would it suit our application & location ?
The list appears to be long and complicated, but in truth it can normally be quite easily split down into the relevant & important areas for each application, if you need help & advice please contact us !!
4G !!
Most of our Alarms are now 4G, these Alarm Panels are used in conjunction with a SIM Card, and will contact owns by Phone & Text when triggered, they also allow the owner to Arm & Disarm by using their own phone from anywhere in the world. These 4G Alarms are backward compatible which means they can also operate on 3G + 2G if the 4G signal fails.
